Lesson Title: Advanced Grammar: Conditional Sentences
Level: Intermediate to Advanced English learners
Objectives:

Procedure:
1. Introduction (5 minutes)
* Begin by reviewing the concept of conditional sentences and their purpose.
* Explain that conditional sentences express possible or probable events based on other events.
* Note that there are four main types of conditional sentences: zero, first, second, and third.
2. Types of Conditional Sentences (20 minutes)
* Zero Conditional: Expresses a general truth or a statement of fact.
* Example: If you heat ice, it melts.
* First Conditional: Expresses a possible or likely event in the present or future.
* Example: If I study hard, I will pass the exam.
* Second Conditional: Expresses an unlikely or hypothetical event in the present or future.
* Example: If I won the lottery, I would buy a mansion.
* Third Conditional: Expresses an impossible or regretted event in the past.
* Example: If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam.
3. Practice Exercises (30 minutes)
* Divide students into pairs or small groups.
* Provide them with a set of practice exercises that include examples of different types of conditional sentences.
* Have them identify the type of conditional sentence used in each example.
* Encourage them to explain the logic and meaning behind each conditional statement.
4. Writing Activity (20 minutes)
* Ask students to write a short paragraph using each type of conditional sentence.
* Provide them with a scenario or topic to base their paragraphs on.
* Encourage them to use a variety of language and grammar structures.
5. Speaking Activity (20 minutes)
* Have students role-play different scenarios that involve conditional sentences.
