Shu Yining (Chinese: 舒毅宁; pinyin: Shū Yìnìng; born 27 February 1997) is a Chinese weightlifter, Olympic champion, and multiple world record holder in the women's 71 kg category.
Shu was born in Changde, Hunan, China, on February 27, 1997. She began weightlifting at the age of 12, and at 16, she won the gold medal in the women's 69 kg category at the 2014 Asian Junior Championships.
In 2016, Shu moved up to the 71 kg category, and at the 2017 Asian Weightlifting Championships, she won the gold medal and set the Asian record in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
At the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships, Shu won the gold medal and set the world record in the clean and jerk with a lift of 152 kg. She also won the gold medal at the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, setting the world record in the total with a lift of 276 kg.
Shu was selected to represent China at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where she won the gold medal in the women's 71 kg category. She set Olympic records in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total, lifting 118 kg, 153 kg, and 271 kg, respectively.
